Megan Knight is a new up and coming Muscle Shoals, AL recording artist from Southern New Jersey. Knight is a singer/songwriter with a love for all genres of music.
Megan released her first self-titled EP in September, 2012; which quickly caught the attention of a producer in Muscle Shoals, AL. Within a month of releasing her EP, she went on her first ‘road trip’ to Muscle Shoals to meet with her current producer, singer/songwriter Gary Nichols. Gary is the lead singer of the Grammy nominated bluegrass band, The Steeldrivers. He first heard of Megan through a local New Jersey friend, Gene Stevenson, who spotted Megan playing at a private party in August of 2012.
Knight performed over 100 shows in 2012 including the following notable venues: World Cafe Live in Philadelphia, PA; The Bitter End in New York, NY; The National Underground in New York, NY; WaWa Welcome America “Party on the Parkway” in Philadelphia, PA, which also featured artists such as; The Roots, Queen Latifah, Daryl Hall, Lauren Hill and many other local artists; and the Woodbury Fall Arts Festival which attracted 15,000 visitors, just to name a few.
In 2013, Megan has continued to perform weekly at many local establishments and festivals within the Tri-state area; including, World Cafe Live in Wilmington, DE, New Jersey Motorsports Park, in Millville, NJ, for the ARCA Racing Series, The Williamstown Music Fest, which drew 5,000 visitors, Before The Bridge Music Festival in Collingswood, NJ and also returned to the Woodbury Fall Arts Festival which drew 25,000 visitors this year, just to name a few.
Knight has just completed recording her first full length album, in Muscle Shoals, which she is anxiously awaiting to debut. Great opportunities are on the horizon for this young and passionate artist whom anticipates a strong presence in the music scene in 2014.
